YOUR CAPITAL. OUR CAPITAL. LET’S TALK.

A partnership
built around you.

Choose an RTO relationship that supports how you want to build your business. We can discuss Northwood-funded contracts, contracts you fund yourself, or a funding mix agreed for your business.

CHOOSE YOUR STARTING POINT

Two paths. One working relationship.

Northwood-funded RTO

Northwood purchases eligible buildings and manages the customer’s rent-to-own account under our dealer agreement.

This is a starting point for manufacturers who want to offer RTO while keeping their own capital available for building and selling.

  • Capital: supplied by Northwood
  • Day-to-day account management: Northwood
  • Funding timing, eligibility, and dealer duties: set in your agreement

Manufacturer-funded RTO

You invest your own money into your own RTO contracts. Northwood manages those contracts under a servicing agreement.

This is a starting point for manufacturers who want to build their own RTO business with an outside management partner.

  • Capital: supplied by your business
  • Contract management: Northwood, within the agreed scope
  • Fees, ownership, reporting, remittances, and risk: set in your agreement

DEFINE THE WORK BEFORE IT STARTS

The details are part of the partnership.

Management should mean something specific. Together, we’ll document the scope of service and each company’s responsibilities.

Payments & communication

How payments are handled, who communicates with customers, and how questions or complaints are escalated.

Reporting & remittances

What account information you receive, how fees are calculated, and when collected funds are remitted.

Returns & late accounts

Who handles follow-up, retrievals, repairs, and resale—and how those costs and risks are allocated.

Ownership & responsibilities

Which party owns each contract or building, how customer information is handled, and who is responsible for taxes and other obligations.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE ARRANGEMENT

Make an informed choice.

Can I put my own money into the RTO contracts?

Yes. We offer a manufacturer-funded arrangement in which you put your own capital into your own RTO contracts and Northwood manages them. The funding structure and servicing terms are agreed for your business.

Can we discuss a mix of funding?

Yes. Tell us how much of your RTO business you want to fund yourself. We’ll discuss the proposed mix, eligibility, and any participation requirements before making an agreement.

What does management cost?

Management fees depend on the arrangement and scope of service. We’ll review fees, any additional charges, and how they are applied before you commit.

Does funding my own contracts guarantee a return?

No. Customer payment performance, early purchases, returns, expenses, and other factors can affect results. The agreement needs to make clear which responsibilities and risks each party takes on.

Can Northwood manage contracts I already have?

Tell us about your existing program. Existing contracts would need a separate review of their terms, records, and any transfer or servicing restrictions. Sending an inquiry does not transfer those contracts.
